As an early-stage startup, we are constantly experimenting with finding the best channels for growth. We naturally encounter many failures in this process. (Oh bosses, forgive me for the resources that I squandered đđ» đ )
I believe in the âlaw of large numbersâ, and as such, we endeavor to err as much as necessary in order to reach success.
In this article, you will find out how we were able to get many leads using Slack channels after many trials.
Step 1 - Finding channels for experiments:
For this task, Googling is the common and handy method but itâs mean not only. Through diving into niches will increase the chance of your finding qualified leads.
For Heybooster, we prefer channels get in touch by eCommerce and digital marketing professionals.
Step 2 - Messages content:
The most critical point is the content of your message. People will never care about your spammy, insincere messages.
It would be cocky to comment on what kind of messages would work well. This may vary based on your niche, your receivers, and your purpose. To create a message that works well, start experimenting.
âYou don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.â
My own experience is that short and sincere messages are much more useful.
It might also be a good idea to send personalized messages. (Weâll talk about this a bit more below.)
Step 3 - Scaling outreach:
The nice thing about these experiments is that easily scalable. You can easily extract the people you will send messages to in the Slack channels you have chosen with tools such as Phantombuster, Texau, etc., and start sending all messages automatically.
Another nice thing about these tools is that they offer customizable features. For example, you can add people's names to all messages you send using Phantombuster. (The effect is priceless)
A little tip on scaling. Slack may impose some limitations on you. Sending messages using new accounts and different cookies can help you get past the limits.
Step 4 - Iteration:
Although we sent as sincere and clear messages as possible, we sometimes encountered harsh reactions.
As I mentioned at the beginning, you can be sure that you will achieve success after making enough mistakes.
